The Houston Texans had a minor scuffle at practice earlier this week. The brief fight broke out after safety on wide receiver Stefon Diggs. Later on tight end Dalton Schultz and cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. also got invovled. Thankfully, nobody was hurt and the altercation did not escalate into a full-blown brawl.Yesterday head coach DeMeco Ryans was asked for his opinion on training camp skirmishes. Ryans had a pretty reasonable answer, saying that he understands them as a former player himself but also that he doesn't want to see it. Here's what he shared, ."When it comes to the skirmishes in practice, I dont want it... I also understand it. Myself as a former player, I was Dwayne Bacon Jersey involved in some so Im not going to act like it doesnt happen. The tempers get raised. It always happens in camp. You have skirmishes and fights, but what I tell guys is, what we can learn from it? For me if were in a game, are you throwing hands in a game? If you do, then youre thrown out of the game. For me its just learning le son that if you throw punches, or whatever you do, are you really protecting the team? Because now youre kicked out of the game. I dont want it, I dont like it. Its sloppy and I think its not representative of who we are as a team and as an organization. That echoes what Ryan had to say about the team's pre-snap penalty i sues during yesterday's training camp practice in the rain, saying the and it was too sloppy.Houston has a very young and talented team, but that means they're more likely to have i sues with penalties and fights. Keeping those mistakes as minimal as po sible will be one of many challenges for Ryans and his staff going into Year 2.That will be put to the test next month when the Texans hold a couple of training camp practices with the Los Angeles Rams ahead of their preseason matchup.
