Quick question about gearbox oil change intervals in Sharjah's heat

Been living here about three years now and still figuring out how the climate affects maintenance schedules compared to back home. My car manual says change transmission fluid every 60,000km but that was probably written for somewhere with actual seasons instead of just endless summer. My Pakistani mechanic keeps telling me to do it every 30,000km here because the heat breaks down the oil faster and causes problems later. I trust the guy generally but also don't wanna throw money at stuff that doesn't need doing. Been driving around Al Nahda the other day and saw a sign for Gearbox Repair Sharjah which got me thinking maybe I should just be proactive instead of waiting for something to break. Anyone here follow the manual strictly or do you adjust for the weather? My car's a 2016 Accord if that matters, automatic transmission. Just trying to figure out if I'm being paranoid or if the shorter interval actually makes sense in this heat.
