Ordering Scuba Gear Online – How Do You Handle Delivery Delays Before a Dive Trip?

Hi everyone,
When planning a diving trip, getting your equipment ready ahead of time is just as important as checking the weather, dive conditions, and travel arrangements. If you order items such as a dive mask, fins, exposure protection, or small replacement accessories online, a delayed delivery can complicate your plans.
I've been thinking about how useful shipment tracking can be when waiting for diving equipment. If an order is shipped through GOFO, for example, you can use the tracking number provided by the retailer to check the latest recorded status and see whether the parcel is in transit or out for delivery. Sometimes updates take a while to appear, so a lack of movement on the tracking page doesn't necessarily mean the package is lost.
For essential equipment, I think it's sensible to order early and avoid relying on a last-minute delivery before heading out on a dive. It's also worth having a backup plan for smaller items that could affect your trip.
How do you usually prepare when ordering dive gear online? Do you order well in advance, buy from local dive shops when time is short, or keep spare equipment for unexpected situations?
