How Can You Choose the Right Curtains for Large Windows and Open Living Spaces?

We’re moving into an open-plan flat with big windows, and I can’t work out how to dress them without the room feeling heavy. What I’ve picked up so far: use two layers, a sheer for daylight and a lined panel for privacy, hung from a ceiling track so the curtain runs full height. Heavier fabric falls straighter over a long drop, and light ones tend to ripple. When I visited a window blinds showroom in Gurgaon, seeing a full-length sample made more difference than any photo.
