How Can You Choose Curtain Styles That Complement Textured Walls and Decorative Finishes?

We’ve just finished a living room with a textured plaster wall behind the sofa and a decorative panel finish on the opposite side. I’m stuck on the curtains. I was thinking of a plain fabric in a tone close to the wall, with a simple wave fold, so nothing competes with the texture. Does that sound right, or will it look flat? I’m also worried a rough wall will stop a track from sitting flush. I walked into the curtain shop at JMD Regent Arcade Mall on MG Road, Gurgaon, to look at samples, and they mentioned free design consultancy, so I may go back with wall photos. Anyone dealt with this?
