I bought an apartment on the resale market, and the previous owners left a built-in Bosch WET 2820EU washer-dryer. It looks solid, though the model isn’t new, but I can’t figure out the control panel—there are so many button combinations, and the labels have worn off over time.

Yesterday I tried running the drying cycle after washing, and it spun the drum for three hours, but the clothes were still damp, and there was also a strange odor. I really need the original manual to understand the temperature settings and how to properly clean the condenser filters, because I’m afraid of overheating the machine. I’d also like to know if it’s safe to wash delicate wool items, or if this older Bosch is too harsh on the spin cycle, since I couldn’t find a button to reduce the spin speed, and I definitely don’t want to ruin a favorite sweater.

Man, congrats on your new place! Bosch machines from that era are built to last - with minimal maintenance, they can last for decades. Regarding the drying issue, it’s most likely either a clogged lint filter or an overloaded drum. Remember that the load for drying should be about half the weight of a regular wash. When I was looking for program descriptions for my own washer, I found manualmachine.com, which has full manuals for all kinds of appliances. I pin one for your Bosch with detailed explanations of each button and spin settings for delicate fabrics. Check the maintenance section; it might just need a self-cleaning cycle. Also, what condition is the rubber door seal in? Is there any buildup?
