Do banner ads still work for crypto campaigns?

I’ve been wondering about this for a while now. With everything moving toward video, influencers, and social media hype, do banner ads even stand a chance anymore? Especially in crypto, where people seem to scroll past anything that looks even slightly like an ad. I used to think banner ads were kind of outdated, but recently I decided to test things myself instead of just assuming.

    The Doubt I Had

My main concern was simple: banner ads feel easy to ignore. You see them on websites all the time, and most people don’t even notice them anymore. In crypto advertising campaigns, it feels even harder because the audience is already skeptical. A lot of people associate ads with scams or overhyped projects, so I wasn’t sure if banner ads would do anything useful at all.

On top of that, I kept hearing mixed opinions. Some people said banner ads are dead, while others claimed they still work if done right. That just made me more confused, honestly.

    What I Tried and Noticed

So I decided to run a small experiment. Nothing big, just a few campaigns with different banner styles. I tested simple designs versus more eye-catching ones, and also tried placing them on different types of websites.

What surprised me was that banner ads weren’t completely useless like I expected. The plain, boring ones barely got any attention. But when I used clear messaging, strong visuals, and kept things simple, the results were actually decent. Not amazing, but definitely not zero.

Another thing I noticed was placement matters a lot. Ads placed in relevant crypto-related spaces performed much better than random placements. It makes sense, but I hadn’t really thought it would make such a big difference.

    What Helped Me the Most

If I had to point to one thing that made the biggest impact, it was focusing on relevance and clarity instead of trying to be flashy. People don’t want to guess what your ad is about. They either get it in a second, or they ignore it.

I also came across this helpful resource on effective banner ads for crypto advertising campaigns, and it gave me a better idea of how to structure ads without overcomplicating things. It wasn’t about making them look fancy, but more about making them easy to understand and trustworthy.

    My Take After Trying It

So, are banner ads still effective? I’d say yes, but only if you approach them the right way. If you treat them like generic ads and expect magic, they probably won’t work. But if you put some thought into design, audience, and placement, they can still bring results.

They’re not the strongest tool out there, but they’re definitely not dead either. I think they work best as part of a bigger strategy rather than the only method you rely on.

At the end of the day, it really depends on how you use them. That’s just my experience though—curious to hear if others have seen similar results or something totally different.
