Are platinum engagement rings with diamonds really worth it?

    Hi everyone,

I’ve been doing a lot of research lately as I’m planning to propose soon, and one thing I keep coming back to is whether platinum is truly worth the investment when it comes to engagement rings. There are so many options out there—white gold, yellow gold, rose gold—but platinum seems to stand out for a few key reasons.

From what I understand, platinum is much more durable and naturally white, so it doesn’t fade or require replating over time like white gold does. That’s a big plus for something meant to last a lifetime. Also, when paired with diamonds, platinum seems to enhance the stone’s brilliance rather than competing with it.

I recently came across some designs for platinum engagement rings diamond and was really impressed by how elegant and secure the settings looked. The craftsmanship seems to focus not just on aesthetics but also on long-term wearability.

That said, platinum is definitely more expensive, so I’m wondering if the added cost is justified in the long run. Has anyone here chosen platinum for their engagement ring? How has it held up over time? Do you think it’s worth spending more upfront for durability and low maintenance?
