What should I look for when hiring ReactJS developers for a web application?

I’m researching the best way to hire ReactJS developers for a web application and would appreciate some advice from people who have worked with React teams.

Beyond React itself, what skills or experience should I look for? I’m particularly interested in developers who can work with technologies such as Next.js, Redux, REST/GraphQL APIs, testing tools, and scalable component-based architectures.

I’m also trying to decide between hiring an individual developer and working with a dedicated development team. Things like communication, timezone overlap, flexibility, code quality, and the ability to scale the team seem important.
